AI-Powered Data Extraction across 8,000+ Contracts

AI-Powered Data Extraction across 8,000+ Contracts

Learn how Law In Order extracted key data from over 8,000 contracts in under 24 hours using Cicero AI, supported by human QA for validation and refinement.

The Challenge

In a major construction documentation project, Law In Order’s Managed Document Review (MDR) team was tasked with extracting structured data from over 8,000 construction-related contracts, totalling more than 200,000 pages.

The goal was to extract key data points to support compliance, analytics, and operational workflows. These included entity names and contact details; site and job information; and legal references such as lot numbers, plans, volumes, and folios.

Traditionally, this would have meant weeks of manual review. Instead, we delivered results in under 24 hours.

Our Approach

1. Smart Document Ingestion

Law In Order’s MDR team deployed Cicero, a private AI platform built for litigation and document-heavy matters, to automate the extraction process. Cicero indexed and classified all documents, automatically identifying types, extracting metadata, and generating summaries to streamline review.

2. Targeted Information Extraction

Using prompt-based AI extraction, the team defined and refined queries to pull 16 distinct data points across the entire document set. This iterative process ensured precision and consistency.

3. Human QA for Assurance

Our QA team validated the AI output, corrected anomalies, and fed insights back into the system – enhancing future performance and maintaining high data integrity.

Measurable Outcomes for Construction Litigation

For the client, the benefits were direct and measurable.

Speed without complexity

By leveraging our AI-powered document review service, the client saw turnaround times shrink from weeks to less than a day. What made this possible wasn’t just the technology, it was Law In Order’s fully-managed delivery model. The client didn’t need to install software, configure systems, or train internal teams. We handled everything end-to-end, ensuring a seamless experience and rapid results.

Scalable for high-volume matters

This project demonstrated how easily our solution scales. Whether it’s thousands or tens of thousands of documents, our infrastructure and workflows are built to handle volume without compromising speed or accuracy. Clients can engage us on-demand, knowing we can ramp up quickly and deliver consistent outcomes across similar matters.

Accuracy you can trust

We combined Cicero’s advanced AI extraction capabilities with human quality assurance to refine the output, ensuring the data was not only correct but also contextually relevant. This hybrid approach gives clients confidence in the integrity of the results – especially when the data feeds into compliance, reporting, or operational systems.

Significant cost savings

By automating what would have taken over 2,000 hours of manual review, we helped the client dramatically reduce labour costs and resource strain. There was no need to divert internal teams or hire temporary staff. Our on-demand model means clients only pay for what they need, when they need it – without long-term commitments or overhead.
